Musician Biogs:

Karanuvaca – Vocals, Accordian
As desperate teenager discovered a very large voice, and launched herself at the London folk circuit. She found her very creative feet in the unique, eccentric and inspirational Fabulous Dirt Sisters, recorded two albums, and toured extensively with them during most of the 80’s. At that time She was also involved in the radical street music movement, and leading voice workshop s. During the 90’s played with world music ensemble Treeo Brancho, and, as a member of Anaglypta Quintet was involved in the artistic direction, workshop facilitation, composing and performing of their “Too many cooks……” multi-media project, as well as six summer tours with Hoofbeat-six piece horse-drawn band. Currently playing, writing and singing with the seven-piece band, Salmagundi; the Yiddish music quintet, Nymie, and has for the last six years been leading and writing material for a 20-strong Buddhist Choir.

Deb Mawby – Alto & Soprano Saxophone
Deb’s musical journey has crossed many borders. From women’s to African , funk , rock and roll , Latin and jazz , her solos are phenomenal and dig deep into the souls of her audiences. Bands past and present include:  Fabulous Dirt Sisters –  Hophazard – world/funk band Skeeta – women’s band The Very Good Rock and Roll Band – Blast that tenor! Mothers of the Future Funky Treeo Brancho(3 piece street music) . Anaglipta (commissioned by Notts County Council) 3Deep/Deli (original jazz) Sticky Morales (soul/ funk)

Stella Patella – Violin & Trombone
Previous projects include: The Fabulous Dirt Sisters (highly original women’s band, toured extensively) – Hophazard (9 piece dance band ska, latin, African) – IOU Theatre (established visual theatre with live music, based in Halifax, Arts Council funded with theatre shows touring throughout UK and abroad) – String Bags (string quartet, performing locally) – Anaglipta Quintet (a touring show including 1 hr of original music commissioned by Notts County Council) – Treeo Brancho (with Deb and Dorry) Nymie – 5piece Klezmer band.

John Berry – Guitar
John is passionate about flamenco music and has played in several set-ups of this type. He is committed to improvising and connections with many musicians of a variety of styles and cultures, with his home a long-term open house for the meeting of many musics.

James – Bass
Jim has played electric and double bass around the world for the last 10 years.Living in Tokyo,Melbourne New York and recently London. For 7 years he played professionally in Japan for 2BL (Victor J.V.C) and many Japanese and foriegn artists.A year in Australia took him around the country recording with Rock bands and touring with the legendary Drifters,along with many jazz gigs with the melbourne band Stairwell.He also spent a year studying with the Assistant Principal Bassist of the Melbourne Symphony and a year studying with some world famous Jazz bass players in NY along with lots of freelance gigs. http://www.jimrom.com/jim

Cris Harris – Drums & Percussion
Cris Harris studied music at Leeds College Of Music. He specialises in kit drums and percussion, he also plays the piano, bass, and guitar and has written many original compositions for various Bands. He has toured with IOU theatre company, and has played in Europe with several bands perfoming many different genres of music. He is currently performing with Salmagundi, Nymie, and other musical projects in and around Nottingham.
