Cris Harris

 

Drums & Percussion

 

Cris Harris studied music at Leeds College Of Music.

 

He specialises in kit drums and percussion, he also plays the piano, bass, and guitar and has written many original compositions for various Bands.

 

He has toured with IOU theatre company, and has played in Europe with several bands performing many different genres of music.

 

Cris is currently performing with Salmagundi, Nymie, and other musical projects in and around Nottingham.

Deb Mawby

 

Alto & Soprano Saxophone

 

Deb’s musical journey has crossed many borders. From women’s to African, funk, rock and roll, Latin and jazz her solos are phenomenal and dig deep into the souls of her audiences.

John Berry

 

Guitar

 

John is passionate about flamenco music and has played in several set-ups of this type.

 

He is committed to improvising and connections with many musicians of a variety of styles and cultures, with his home a long-term open house for the meeting of many musics.

Karanuvaca

 

Vocals, Accordian

 

Karnanuvaca found her very creative feet in the unique, eccentric and inspirational Fabulous Dirt Sisters, recorded two albums, and toured extensively with them during most of the 80’s.

 

During the 90’s played with world music ensemble Treeo Brancho and, as a member of Anaglypta Quintet, was involved in the artistic direction, workshop facilitation, composing and performing of their “Too many cooks”

 

Currently playing with Salmagundi, Nymie and a 20-strong Buddhist Choir.

Lorin

 

Double Bass

 

Lorin has been writing and performing with groups around the East Midlands for the last 20 years and has collected dust with poets, musicians, dancers, film makers and puppeteers to create random works of art.

 

Lorin met Deb from Salmagundi in November 2010 while they were both performing for a mischief of anarchist mice, he joined the band shortly after however on rare occasions he can still be seen performing as the sometime one man band Haemogoblin.

  • Hophazard (9 piece dance band ska, latin, African)
  • IOU Theatre (established visual theatre with live music, based in Halifax, Arts Council funded with theatre shows touring throughout UK and abroad)
  • String Bags (string quartet, performing locally)
  • Anaglipta Quintet (a touring show including 1 hr of original music commissioned by Notts County Council)
  • Treeo Brancho (with Deb and Dorry)
  • Nymie 5piece Klezmer band.

Vicki Manderson

 

Tenor Saxphone & Clarinet

 

As a child Vic strode her way into music playing snare drum in a marching band, and after road testing various instruments settled very happily on the clarinet and saxophone.

 

The dazzling tones of Klezmer clarinet are a big influence on her playing and she enjoys the versatility of this fantastic style.

 

Vic has played with Salmagundi since 2004 and she also plays with the Yiddish band, Nymie.
